Princess Alexandra Hospital

Aug 30, 2010

The Princess Alexandra Hospital’s Central building provides patient facilities for approximately 650 beds. This Hospital comprises a 6 Storey Tertiary facility with a Basement Carpark. It is also one of Australia’s leading teaching and resource hospitals. The PA hospital further provides acute medical, surgical and mental health facilities for the south-east Queensland population. The site campus also encompasses the Central Energy Facility in conjunction with Allied Health and associated Maintenance Departments.

MRP’s involvement with this project began in 1997 with the Design competition and subsequent Master Planning stages for the site campus which culminated in the construction of this world-class facility for Queensland Health.

Our commission included all hydraulic services excluding Wet Fire Services. The project is a testament to MRP’s longevity and the ability to “see the project through to completion”. We still have members on the staff who worked during the design and construction phase of this project, which took a total of approximately seven years from design to construction of this facility.
